Getting There


Road description: We drive to the Inn Bodenbauer and park at the Parking space. The Panoramapath is a short and family-friendly recreational Way, which is passable from May to October.

We start from the Inn Bodenbauer and walk to the Hochschwabmuseum. In the old “Bodenbauerkeusche” (4 Stairs), which was build in 1700, You can find the Hochschwabmuseum.

The exhibitions main focus is Natural treasure (Origin of the Hochschwab, Alpin-flora and fauna), Cultural treasure (Insights into the historical Alp economy, Touristic development) and Water treasure (Drinking water supply of the Cities Vienna and Graz), and it is an impressive program for Old and Young. You have to overcome three levels during the Inspection, so it is not really accessible!
The Wheelchairperson can stay on the Ground floor and the Guidance will be adapted to the Group. So it is really important to register before You come and say, that You come with a Wheelchairperson.

After the Inspection we walk next to the “Fichtenwood” in the direction of Heinzleralp (Joserlake). We walk in between the “Buchenwaldrand” and the Wildmeadow to the Forest road.
In between meadows invite the Kids to play, and sometimes You can also find a bench to relax a bit. You can find blackboards at the Benches which give You information about Mountaintops, different Trees, Meadowareas and Animal beings, but also about the “Hochsschwabmuseum” and the Quality of the Air at the Bodenbauer.

Now we go in the direction of Trawiesalp („G´hackte, Hochschwabgipfel) to the wayside Cross on the right side under the huge Beech tree. We have reached a special place.

His pleasant effect has been proved. The individually perceptible effect on the human health books the biosensory measurements of this "relaxation place" by the institute of biosensory and bioenergetic environmental research and is shown in the Hochschwabmuseum. Here we can relax and the Kids can play. On the meadow You can also have a picnic. From this area we walk next to the “Fichtenwood” and pass Anthills, imposing old Trees (Maples, Ashes) back to the Parking space at Bodenbauer.

Now we go in the direction of the Museum again and walk by on the left side of the Wood so that we can reach the Relaxation place. In connection with the establishment of the panoramic way and discovery of the relaxation place a former cabbage site was found and therefore the “Kohlstätte” in book mountain / St.Ilgen proved.

At the end of the Road You can find the Monument of the “Büchsenmacherin Rosl”, who was born 150 years ago in Aflenz.
